The Growing Community Project welcomes Josh Slotnick to Helena to speak on solutions, not a recipe, but a set of commonalities between communities that have had some success in taking back our agriculture. He will talk about the role of community gardens and community farms in the revitalization of local food production.

Slotnick is an adjunct professor in Environmental Studies at UM, manages the PEAS Farm for UM & Garden City Harvest, has been farming since 1991, and is a graduate of UM and Cornell University.

Grow Local! This program kicks off spring events for the Growing Community Project, a community collaboration led by WEEL (Working for Equality and Economic Liberation) and AERO (Alternative Energy and Resources Organization) that works to develop community gardens within walking distance of every neighborhood in Helena.
